After Death Communications in the JW community
by jack2312 inmy name is jack and i'm looking for after death communications from the jehovah witness community.
an after death communication (or adc) is when a loved one sends a kind of message to this side of life after their death.
it can be a dream or smell (like perfume or roses that would be attached to them in memory) or a feeling of their presence.

I just can't believe that in 2015 people are still talking about this kind of quackery. You think mankind advances, but they never do. -

I'm not so sure a bigger awakening is going to happen anymore
by bradford inwhen i left in march officially i started reading the forums here.
i had this excitement that more people would be leaving soon because of the crazy broadcasts, the crazy "new light" that the gb was dishing out, and more recently the australian royal commission lighting up geoffrey.
this past saturday i had an elder stop by to chat for the first time since i left.

Nothing is going to change. Most of the people still Witnesses are those who want to be Witnesses.
It isn't like it was long ago when people were stone-cold afraid to leave. Less people need religion nowadays. But those in are mostly hard core.

by tresdecu in....charles taze russell's mom and dad didn't have sex back on that night in june of 1851.... weird that a married couple getting horny could affect so many lives 164 years later.. just a random friday thought.

Too bad Hitler's mother and father had intercourse. Yes, it all makes sense now!
Come on. Come up with something a little more intelligent than this.
I guess if you're parents didn't slept together we wouldn't have this banal post to talk about and someone after me wouldn't be angry reading this!

How many teens stay because they have their eye on someone they hope to marry?
by purrpurr ini was just watching a documentary film about the amish.
this one girl who left said she didn't leave until her early twenties because as a teen until then she had her eye on one of the boys in the church.
she had a crush on him and hoped to marry him.

There were way better marriage mates outside of JW Land than inside, so I'd say it's the totally opposite.
So many people leave the JW faith because they want to marry someone who isn't a JW.
That's probably why young JW's leave the religion the most! 3 out of 4 don't stay JW's so I'm not sure this makes any sense at all. Maybe you can shoot off an example or two, but they leave because they find someone who isn't a JW. Duh.

I don't know about you, but I got a few speeding tickets in my day when I was a JW. Who didn't?
I often find it a strange paradox that people post crimes and misdemeanors of JW's, whether they really have the truth or not, like they are supposed to be perfect citizens. Their rate of crime, divorce, murder, etc. is minuscule compared to society's in general, but even if they had the truth there would still be outliers out there who did terrible things. So I'm not sure what that is supposed to prove when you take the emotion out of it. King David committed murder and adultery. Satan was an Angel. Judas was an apostle. So if some JW got speeding tickets or did something against the law what does that prove?
Everyone is human and cable of doing something wrong no matter what side you're viewing it on--from their side or from the outside. I think sometimes we go overboard trying to find every infraction committed by a JW like somehow there is something to glean from it.

sold Kingdom Hall where Ray Franz watched
by TJ Brother insearching on google maps found that the kingdom hall where ray franz was disfellowshipped and participated in gadsden was sold recently for 7th day christian fellowship .does anyone know about it?
is it a file burning ?

Is it a file burning? When a Kingdom Hall is sold off whatever files are there go wherever the congregation is moving, so if it's to a new hall they go there, if they move to another hall where they share the building the congregation's files go there.
It's a bit strange to think they'd sell an old Kingdom Hall off to get rid of the individual publisher files. If they didn't want any file to be there they would simply destroy it.

Why isn't demon possession a DF offense?
by rebel8 inlet's review: it's a cult!.
allrighty--got thinking about it in this thread.
isn't it odd that, of all things, that isn't on the list of df offenses?
-

Maybe because it's mental illness and not demon possession. -

A note on the Watchtowers property investments
by Saintbertholdt inabout a year ago there was a thread regarding the 2008 watchtower bible and tract society of new yorks tax return.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/287098/2008-watchtower-income-tax-return?page=1.
a reference was made to the provictor property fund iv which was listed as their primary alternate business activity.. turns out that at that time 75% of the chrysler building was owned by the provictor property fund iv until it was sold during that year.. http://money.cnn.com/2008/07/09/news/international/chrysler_building/?postversion=2008070913.
just thought you should know :).

Do you know how funds work? There are thousands of investors and if that fund makes a 2% or 3% or a gaudy 10% each investor gets a small percentage of a profit. It's like a high-end CD.
I fail to see the story here on this one?

It sounds like you are suffering from depression, which is nothing to be embarrassed about. If you don't have depression in this messed up world that wouldn't be normal.
You're depression might not even have anything to do with your upbringing or religion. It may be something you've inherited, so you need to have it treated no matter what you do. Being mentally ill can make you feel things that are not real and feelings and emotions that are not normal. It is simply a chemical imbalance. Certain chemicals in your brain don't get released enough and it makes you feel down, depressed, and even suicidal.
You need to try and see a therapist. They can give you medications that can balance these feelings out.
Don't try and fix this yourself. You need to ask for help!
